Flawless skin is unrealistic for most women. Factors like age, genetics, diet and environment all contribute to the health and condition of your skin. However, regardless of these factors you can greatly improve your skin's appearance by using products with certain skin care ingedients in them.

If you want to have and maintain healthy skin, you'll need to use the right products for your skin type. But even moreso, you'll need to make sure you are using them correctly.
Many women, (especially women of color) struggle with knowing what types of products to use as well as how often.

"Nobody sees a flower -- really -- it is so small it takes time -- we
haven't time -- and to see takes time, like to have a friend takes time." Georgia O'Keefe
I never thought I'd be requoting anything by Georgia O'Keefe but this statement rings true for really all you dare to do in life.

People are constantly looking for a long list of benefits when buying skin care products and rightfully so. However, you set yourself up for disappointment if you think you can find a product to take care of your skin that answers it all:
Does it moisturize?
Does it protect my skin from the sun?
Will it even my skin tone?
Does it minimize oil production?
Does it prevent wrinkles?
Does it make me look like Beyonce? No way in.

Are you annoyed with leaving the house looking your polished best only to catch a glimpse of your face in full oily t-zone glory?
You're then left feeling like you can't stand too close to people for fear that they may catch a reflection of themselves in your forehead!
OK, maybe that's a stretch but the annoying oily t-zone are just doesn't quit.

A few days ago I shared with you how you need to make sure your summer moisturizer has humectants in them. Now, let's flip it a bit and look at another popular skin care ingredient...Emollients.
What you
don't need in your skin care products is emollients.

Your skin care routine should be simple: Cleanse, Tone, Moisturize and..........Exfoliate. It doesn't matter if you are a woman of color or not.

Every now and again, I stumble over what to write about. Radiant ethnic skin? How to Pick a Good Moisturizer? After all, how much can one talk about when it comes to taking care of your skin?
I can tell you about the various skin types and how to care for them.

Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Wait. That's not in the Bible. Some human said that! Not sure who but there's no question that being cleaning (physically and spiritually) ranks high (although not as high as being Godly). Since, this isn't a spiritual blog, let's focus on the physical part of cleanliness and taking care of your skin.

Full coverage foundation, glizy eye shadows, and shiny glosses...What a beautiful combination for glitz and glamour (when applied correctly). Wearing make-up is most effective when seeking to enhance your outer beauty.
