Skin Type - Dry
Dry skin is itchy and uncomfortable and if the proper skin care product for this skin type is not used, the skin can become cracked and damaged. Dry skin types do not produce enough oil and the skin must be moisturized/hydrated regularly. After washing, the skin feels tight. To care for dry skin, a daily regimen should consist of a creamy cleanser, followed by a facial toner and a rich moisturizing cream or lotion. Once weekly, the face should be cared for with an exfoliator. People with severely dry skin may need to moisturize twice daily. Different moisturizers should be used for the face and body. The face tends to have different needs as many people with dry skin all over their body, may experience a combination skin on their face. See our past issue which provides more details about the combination skin type.
