There
are 4 basic skin types:
Combination Skin, Oily Skin, Dry Skin, Normal Skin. Any of those skin
types can also be sensitive. Please be mindful that various
events/reasons can cause your skin type to change over time (i.e.
pregnancy,
illness).
The
Combination skin type is identified by normal to dry skin on the mouth,
cheek and eye areas with a few dry and a few oily patches (also know as
T-Zone area). The T-Zone area is typically the chin, nose and forehead.
As a day progresses, people
with Combination Skin will notice that the T-Zone area of their skin
produces an excessive amount of oils and is prone to skin break outs.
To care for Combination Skin, one should use a foaming facial wash in
the mornings to cleanse the skin and a creamy facial cleanser in the
evenings. Using these two types of cleansers at the different times of
day helps to maintain the balance between the two facial skin types
(dry and oily). In addition to cleansing daily, the Combination skin
type should use a light moisturizer on the entire face, concentrating
more on the dry areas.
Skin Tip of the Quarter: Just before going outside, the use
of sun block with a SPF of at least 15 is highly recommended. With
prolonged exposure to the skin, SPF45 is recommended. In order to
protect your skin, it's wise to always wears sunblock on a daily basis
(reapply after 2 hours no matter what the product container states).
