Prevent Pimples...Really You Can

Doesn't it just suck when you get
a pimple first thing in the morning? Or how about when you are about
to go out for a night on the town...you've bought the fliest outfit and
shoes to boot; hair is done and you're ready to put on your make-up but
then you guess what has decided to come for a visit? A pimple!
Why
on earth is it that when you least want to get a pimple (like there's
ever a good time), one always seems to pop up? I don't know either but
what I do know is that there are simple ways to prevent pimples.
They may not work 100% of the time but if you can just cut your
risk of getting a pimple even 50% of the time, the minimal effort taken
is well worth it. Don't you think?
So how can you prevent pimples? There are a number of ways to prevent
them before they start percolating and there are also natural remedies to
prevent pimples from becoming full blown bumps (I'll share these later).
First,
you can prevent pimples by making sure you cleanse your skin at least
twice daily. Oil and dirt build up on your skin throughout the day and
these can encourage a break out.
Second, keep your hands out
of your face. I know I know. You hear it all the time but think about
this (especially if you live in the city)...your hands are exposed to
dirt and germs all the time: riding public transportation, handling the
kids, touching items at work like your keyboard. These items fester germs reapidly. You get the point.
Third, Consume 1/2 of your body weight in ounces of water daily. Water is
your best friend from helping to rid your body of impurities. As a
matter of fact, if you limit your fluid intake to not much more than
some good ole H2O, you will be doing your skin and your internal organs
a great service.
You can also prevent pimples by keeping your hair styled away from your face.
Many of us get outbreaks on the forehead and around the jawline because
of the way we style our hair. Your hair carries lots of germs
includign styling product build up. Having this up against your skin
for an amount of time, can cause irritation. Well kick me for
encouraging you to pull your hair back but what's more important? the
style or clear skin? Ok, maybe it depends on the day.
Finally, avoid using skin care products and make-up with harsh chemicals
in them (ex: methylparabens, sodium laurel sulfate, propylene glycol,
talc). If you have sensitive skin, certain chemical ingredients can
cause acne. As far as make-up is concerned, pure mineral make-up is
best. It's light on the skin and discourages clogged pores.
