How abut taking your exfoliation treatment a step further from removing dead skin cells to evening out your skin tone? Manual skin polishing can be done right in your own home when you learn the technique and have the proper items. Basic Items Need for Skin Polishing:
To Face Polish, moisten skin with warm water and use a gentle exfoliant and rub in circular motions, avoiding the delicate eye are. If you have acne problems, it’s better to use an alpha hydroxy facial peel to smooth the skin instead of a scrub. To Body Polish, steam up your bathroom and then start by rubbing pure olive oil all over your body and letting it soak for about 10 minutes. This helps to condition the skin and make polishing easier and gentler on the skin. Next apply a gentle sugar scrub with your polishing cloth all over your body in gentle circular motions. Take your time body polishing working upwards toward the heart. Use your pumice stone on rough areas such as knees, heels and elbows.After skin polishing and rinsing, always pat skin dry versus rubbing it with a towel. Also, be sure to apply a facial moisturizer for your skin type and light body cream. If you are going outdoors, you must protect your skin from the sun. Of course, you should always use sunscreen or sun block when going outdoors but especially after exfoliating or skin polishing. Remember, the keys to effective skin polishing are to be gentle and to polish no more than twice per week. You don’t want to rub your skin raw.
